Selmer Super Balanced Action (SBA) Alto 36xxx 1948
1948 36XXX Selmer Super Balanced Action Alto in great condition and plays superb! I have owned a few of these and for me this is probably my favourite. It has no lacquer like many of these now (its nearly 80 years old!) but I have polished and applied a restorer's wax to help it patina slowly over time, a great way to help preserve the metal without relacquering. It has had a full mechanical overhaul with fresh Pisoni pads, seamless domed metal reflectors, new blued metal springs, corks and felts. I have also soldered a preventative patch near the RH thumbrest to stop wear on the body tube as the origional thumbrests tend to be too small and I find its easier to do this now rather than in a few years when the customer has worn a hole there - completely removable!
